whats the difference in price in Berenguer reborn dolls?

I have a stunning reborn baby girl my first baby I paid a lot of money for her,she looks like a sucky lip,I believe she is a Berenguer,she has markings on back of neck that says F-323A.My friend purchased a sucky lip an paid very little,also her baby is softer and she has no markings,please can you tell me the difference,although people are saying I paid too much for the same baby,she is stunning and I love her to bits so to me shes worth every penny,but I would like to know why the price is so different.Kind Regards.Angie Mac.

Hi there,thank you so much for all the info hun.Blimey so much work must have gone into my little one,makes me wonder why artist's are still doing it this way,though i must say the quality difference is noticable compared to the copy sculpt.Many thanks for your prompt response and very interesting info,i really enjoyed reading it,guess i still have a lot to look forward to on the learning side of these little ones.xx

dolls vs. kits

Numerous years ago, Reborns were made from Berenguer dolls that had to be stripped of factory paint, head sanded of hair lines, new body replaced, eyes replaced, etc.It took many hours, sometimes days to prepare the baby to even start the reborn process.

Berenguer caught on to the "reborn market" and started making kits for reborners that had not paint , etc and they could begin immediately reborning with no prep work. This allowed reborners to lower their prices as their was less prep work involved. Berenguer also made the vinyl a little thinner for easier rooting.

That is the difference. I hope this makes sense.
