thoughts on fake babies..

Hello, I am Karrie Lapointe the artist behind "Living Dolls". I have been reborning for about 2 years now. My experience with this form of art has been a eye opener in the way that these babies are so life like when we add paint and hair its not just a doll you are celebrating the beauty of a human being. I think this could possibly be one of the most positive art mediums ever.

Think about it... babies, they are cute, innocent and need lots of love and protection. All these things are natural instincts we feel by just even the moment you hold a baby even if it is not yours! We all have that feeling to love and nurture. I have donated dolls to nursing homes and one to the breast cancer foundation both to raise money and both have wonderful results.

One story in particular is a elderly man bought one of my reborns after he did not win the raffle at his wife's nursing home. His wife as i was told basically sits and stares at the walls has to have 24 hour care. When he placed their reborn baby doll in her arms he said it was a spark that lit up in her eyes that he had seen when they had their own babies so many years ago, she now makes eye contact again and interacts more.

So my thoughts on the term "fake baby" is wrong because what they give to so many people is real feelings... natural instincts!
