super sculpey baking question?
by Briana
Doll limbs
Hi, I am starting my first super sculpey reborn doll. I am doing my own head and limbs and the arms and legs have a wire hanger wrapped very tightly in tinfoil and I pounded it and flattened it well. Its shaped and ready for the clay and it's probably half the thickness that the limbs will be. Is that ok? And I am scared about baking. I am afraid of putting so much effort into it and then having it not turn out right and cracking or breaking somehow. Is there something I can do to prevent this? How long exactly in your experience should I put the limbs and head in the oven? Also I plan to root mohair in the unbakes clay first. The leg parts will have thicker clay on the thigh areas then the lower leg part and the same for the arms. Is there anything you could let me know to make sure I bake everything correct? Oh and it's gonna be a larger doll. The measurements are the same as my daughters which will be approx a six month old doll. Thanks
