Reborn Doll Hair Rooting Question

Does anyone have a "pattern" for hair rooting on their reborn dolls? I can NEVER get mine to look lite and wispy like others are able no matter HOW much I practice. Also, I heard rooting from the bottom up is the best way after establishing the swirl. Any ideas? I know it's easier to assemble a store bought Christmas tree when you start at the bottom and work up. LOL Thanks, DeDe

Hair rooting question

I have tried painting the hair first & not to impressed with my results, but it was'nt dark enough. I am having better luch rooting crown long & rooting shorter hair under longer strands then using a straight edge razor to thin under hair in a tappered way. I am still working on this same problem my self!

I tend to paint a hair pattern out on my dolls head before rooting. I start at the end (face, base of neck, etc) and work towards the center. There's a lovely set of tutorials on the Bountiful Baby Forum as well that might be helpful to you, in case you want to check it out:)
