Meg (now Taylor) is a beautiful reborn doll sculpt by Marissa May
Hi everyone! My name is Cherie Miller and I'm 39. Before I get to my story I want to share some of Taylor's facial details with you; Taylor has a "Nail Scratch" on his left cheek (Newborn nails can be sharp!), he also has 2 spots of "Newborn acne", one on his chin and one next to his right eyebrow.
Ok, now comes the good part!! I promise to do my best to make this fairly long story short :o)
When I was 13 I received a doll for Christmas/Hanukkah that looked so real, it frightened people. I loved that doll (I still have her)! I was intrigued by how she was painted and hoped that maybe one day I?d be able to take a class to learn how she was created. I hadn't given it much more thought until one day, 25 years later, I came across a documentary about ?Reborn Dolls? I loved the idea that they were vinyl and not porcelain, because if I am within 5 feet of something fragile it WILL break. I was beyond excited! There was no question, I had to learn how to make them! So, after doing a lot of research, read a lot of books, and watching A LOT of DVD's, I bought some supplies, a doll kit and jumped in with both feet. After finishing my first baby I was completely addicted! I knew she was not going to be my last. I loved it, ALL of it! I had heard horror stories about rooting, how long it took, and how boring it was; But I loved rooting too! In fact now it's my favorite part of the Reborning process. Well, that, in a large nut shell, is the beginning of my Reborning story. The story continues with every baby I finish and hopefully the story will go on for a very long time!!

Scarlet fever...
by: Anonymous

I am new to the world of reborning (I just finished my first doll!) so I haven't been around long but it seems like a lot of people don't think their dolls look real unless they are so "over blushed" they look like they have scarlet fever. Most newborns are blotchy, but they don't have to look like they have a "skin condition". All of the babies this month are beautiful!

Beautiful Details!!
by: Tamara

Meg is beautiful, you've done a great job "bringing her to life"! In the end reborning is about adding very fine details that change a vinyl looking doll into a human looking newborn. Very nice work!
