In Responce to AA babies
by: Judymae

Hi and thank you for your nice comment about the baby.
I noticed also that AA babies are always portrayed a certain way and so I have and am trying to do the beautiful AA skin tones but as you mentioned they do come in a variety of shades. In my family alone there are many shades. I have 2 black grand-babies and 2 black, Indian, Dutch, English, and 2 Caucasian Italian, Indian, Dutch, English, Irish grand babies. My Husband is Caucasian Italian and English, I am Dutch, Indian and English I have 2 Caucasian daughter that are English, Indian and Dutch and 1 son-in-law Caucasian Italian, Irish and 1 son-in-law Black and Indian.
I have done babies of all shades and shades. You can see them at judymae7.com. I also do them according to my clients desire. I have just finished a light colored black or bi-racial baby with human ethnic hair. He is adorable and on my web site. The Baby in the contest sold and the lady said that her coloring and shading was perfect and figured I had a interracial family because of the detail. I must say though it is harder to photograph a reborn than an actual baby and the Ethnic babies are even harder either true shade not showing up right or detail not showing.I believe it is the reflection of the lighting on the babies where they are vinyl. I have babies look shinny when they have no shine at all and have to retake pictures too.
If I can be of any assitance in your search for a baby or in doing a baby for you please let me know.
God Bless

Aray of color
by: Judymae

No need to be sorry, this baby is done after my grand daughter and actually has her coloring. I have 2 bi-racial,2 black and 2 Caucasian so we have an aray of color, I dutch, and indian my husband is Italian and English, I have 1 son-in-law that is italian and Irish and my other son-inlaw id Black and Indian so our family colors are grand. This baby dosen't photo as realistic as she actually looks as I'm not a photographer but a Black lady chased me down in the store to see my beautiful baby and when I told her she was a doll she said " never have I seen a doll that actually looked like a black baby, she is remarkable" and wanted to hold her for so long. I agree though growing up all the Black babies I saw were just caucasion babies painted dark.
God bless

Pretty Baby
by: Anonymous

This is a pretty baby (not to take anything away from your work) but I have tried to look for babies that look like all the babies I know. I am African American but noticed when it comes to African American babies they are not always portrayed actual. Our babies are born light and get darker as they get older. I am searching for a doll that resemble me and my family but when I do see a doll that resembles my family they are portrayed as bi-racial. Please keep in mind that African American really means we are of the African decent but we are biracial or mixed with various races, therefore you have us in many shades of color. I would like to see dolls that really look like me and I have not seen that. I come from a family of 8 children and I have 1 daughter and 1 grand daughter and the dolls I see do not look like us.
Sorry...
