Problems taking reborn dolls through the airport?

I want to ask you about the Security at the airport..I am going back to Malaysia soon..maybe around Feb next year..Can I just put my reborn baby Emma in my luggage (with her all wrap up with box and all) will that be safe and in that way would avoid the security to check her and cut her up??I'm afraid that will happen to Emma tho..

I TOOK 8 REBORNS FROM THE USA TO MEXICO CITY, 4 IN MY LUGGAGE AND OTHRER 4 IN THE PLANE, THEY CHECKED THEM WITH THE X RAYS, WANT THEY WERE SUSPICIOUS WAS FOR THE MAGNETS, NO FOR THE PACIFIERS, BUT THE ONES FOR BABY GIRLS BOWS. NO PROBLEM CARMEN

Luggage checks

Security is pretty tight these days because of terrorist threats. Some luggage is checked I think. I assume all luggage is scanned through some kind of xray machine looking for explosives, etc. I don't know if your bag will pass the security check or not...it depends on what they see, or think they see. Maybe you should ask someone at airport security what you should do. They may tell you to disclose the doll, or they may just say it will be fine. It's always best to ask first. I wouldn't think an ordinary doll in baggage would be a problem though. If they ask what it is made of just tell them vinyl and polyfil. They may ask if there is sand in it so just say no, no sand. Be honest but don't tell them more information that they want to know.

Polypellets & glass beads

Polypellets and glass beads/granules are man-made, but glass is made from sand. There are different kind of glass granules, some are better than others. Like a lot of reborners buy sandblasting sand, which is also called glass beads, in different grits. It is still technically sand, but it goes through a process that turns it into glass. It's a tricky situation, but I would definitely check with Malaysia and see what their policies are, and also try to find out how customs (in both your country of departure and country of entry) handle the discovery of a doll in someone's luggage.

Hello..I just check with the artist she (Reborn baby) has glass granules, not sand. She also contains poly pellets, glass "rocks"

Sand is organic. It is potential full of germs that could contaminate an environment. The only country I know of that prohibits sand is Australia, but you might want to check with the Malaygia or the country/countries you plan to visit, and/or the airline for their policies regarding sand.

You shouldnt have any problems with your reborn dolls unless they contain sand; in my experience this is the only thing C&E will stop you shipping or taking abroad. IF you arent sure, check with the artist.
