is there anyway to dye (color) mohair on reborn doll.

What would I use to change the hair color on my reborn baby. I do not want to stain the head. She has an almost white color mohair rooted right now. and I would like to have it a little more blonde. any idea what to use. thanks

Don't!!
by: Cherie Miller

Hi!
It is important when choosing a doll that you are satisfied with it's hair color. NEVER EVER color your dolls hair after it's been rooted. 1st of all, there is no way you will be able to dye the hair without staining the vinyl. And 2nd, you have no way of knowing how the mohair was treated by the company that processed and colored it to begin with or by the artist who rooted the baby. To avoid ruining a very expensive doll make sure you are happy with it's hair color when you buy it, even if you have to custom order a baby it will be worth the extra time it takes to get the custom order from the artist. (I've never known a company to charge more or less for mohair based on color so any honest artist WILL NOT charge you extra just because you want to choose your babies hair color).
Hope this answered your question!

dying reborn hair
by: Morgan

The ash blond dye idea for too white mohair is ingenious! I LOVE my reborn but felt it would be perfect if the hair wasn't unnaturaly white. The darker blonde is a great idea because darker colors would ruin the vinyl. Im so excited I'm going to try it tomarrow: )

Hi there,i have done this,if you want the hair to look less white and more blond you can buy,ASH BLOND rinse, this will take out the white and tone it down, you can buy little sachets of colour rinses all most anywhere, hope this helps,i got this tip from a friend who runs a doll hospital.

dyeing mohair on dolls head
by: Jan Yopp

The only thing I can think of is to use a tea solution on a piece of the mohair that you have left and see how it looks. I have dyed mohair and it is a long and drawn out process that would definetly dye the doll vinyl.
You might also try coffee. Sounds weird but its worth a try. script
