Oct 06, 2011 Rating reborn admirer by: Anonymous If you want a reborn that has realistic features you can find artists that put breathing mechanisms,heartbeats,voiceboxes and heatpacks in them to make the doll seem like a real baby. Just go on the computor and look up reborn baby doll artists and you should be able to find one that does it. GOOD LUCK with your search:)!!!

Dec 04, 2009 Rating reborns by: Viv/Aviva First of all, I had two miscarriages before I had my boys, so that doesn't mean you can't have babies...it does mean that at least you can get pregnant. What I want to say is that I think a sleeping baby is just like little angels. I used to sit and look at my sons when they were just born and while they slept, they smiled, or they would flutter their eyes. And then to just hold them up close to me and just feel their little soft bodies against me...it was so sweet and sometimes when I'm feeling down..I can come to where I have my reborns and I pick one up and sit in the rocker and cuddle and rock them. I'm sure there are some people that think it's odd, but it just reminds me of a time years and years ago. So..to me the sleeping newborn was just amazing. Oh..one important thing...when I stopped worrying about having a baby, was when my body was ready.

I have a nonprofit called Dolls4Alzheimers and the most important quality is the soft feel of a real baby. There are hearts that you can place in the doll as you are stuffing to activate the heartbeat you just hold the doll and when hugged it activates the heart beat. They are fairly large and distract from the soft feel. There are heat packs you can activate and stick in a diaper of under a tee shirt. They have to be reactivated often. Like hand warmers. Some people like the pacifier in the mouth and do this by placing a magnet behind the mouth and at tip of pacifier. Down side is they interfere with pace makers so I can't use them with seniors. Molly by Lee Middleton is called a breather. There is a box in her chest around 4" wide and 3" deep and is hard plastic. Again I can't use them with the seniors because they aren't as soft. Most reborners are familiar with all this. I feel the hugging is what does the healing and comforting. You would benefit by having a reborn.
