How to weight a reborn doll with limbs and head sewn onto cloth body?
Hi everyone. I have just bought my first doll for reborning and I have noticed that the limbs and head are sewn onto the cloth body and I was wondering how to weight it when I can't get in side it.
Thanks for your help!

WEIGHING,SEWN LIMBED REBORNS
by: ANGIE MAC

I often reborn the sofia kit,the limbs are sewn to body. You should be able to see the top of the limb and notice the limb is sealed off, gently cut round in a circle with a scalpel tool leaving a little bit uncut, then you should be able to lift the round flap, you now have access to fill the limb for weighting,do not fill the limb fully as you will need to add stuffing to keep the filling from falling out, then push the flap back down, you could glue flap if you want,i do not because more stuffing goes on top of the shoulder part. Some other kits have material blocking access.Cut a little slit in material, place your funnel again with your choice of weight, pour into limbs, then just sew a stitch or two to prevent it coming out.The same process for the head,if the head just has a open hole, weigh, put in stuffing, then cut a round piece of cardboard slightly bigger than hole, push in to the hole making sure the cardboard disc is not loose an firmly in place, seal or glue around the join if you wish.Hope this helps.

removing sewn on body for weighting

In order to weight the inside parts you have to dissasemble the doll. I would use a new cloth body which comes with cable ties for assembling. Then you would proceed with the rebornning process. Be sure to get the right size body and make sure the limbs are what you have...full or 3/4 limbs etc. Hope this helps.
