How to use baby fat gel pads in my reborn doll?

by Catherine
(Lewistown,Pa)

I recently began reborning and it's going rather well thanks to this website (and many others). Working on my third angel and I've decided to try the baby fat gel pads but I'm not sure how to use them. Do I just position them in the body (tummy and tush) and stuff around them? Do I adjust my weighting materials or keep them the same? Does the body need special pockets inside to hold them? I've searched high and low but I've yet to find my answer. If you can help that would be great,my poor baby boy is simply in pieces over this! :D

Many thanks in advance,
Catherine

baby fat pads

Hi , I have used the silicone pads to pad out my babies bottoms and they hold in place with the reat of the fibre fill and actually do feel like a little baby bottom. That is the only place I have used them.and not to worry too much about the weight as it will come in the boundaries of the baby when she/he is complete. good luck

You are a sweetie :)

I think I'll go ahead and order some next time I place an order anywhere that has them. I've heard that they really add a baby feel :) And you have given me the courage to try! LOL

Oh, FYI twins are discounted, since they will use the same custom colors and all the shipping is together and less. Let me know when you win the lottery and want your babies! :)

I've got it!

It figures that once I give in and ask others for help the answer would pop up on it's own. The "fat pads" are just breast implants and weigh next to nothing.Lay the body on it's back and position the tushy pad first, add a layer of poly-fil to hold it in place building up to the front of the body (tummy area). Add the tummy pad to the front where you want it and, again, stuff around it to hold it in place. After that it's business as usual in regards to adding weight and poly-fil to the rest of the body. As long as you put them in so the widest part of the pad goes from hip to hip (i.e. not up and down. That will give your baby a fat riddled sternum)it seems nigh impossible to mess this up really. Even after you get the baby completed, if you do your test cuddle and think it feels wrong, you can always open her back up and adjust the pads.

Sebriam, give it a try. If you're brave enough to experiment with paints then you can do this. Plus when I win the lottery and have you make my twins I'm going to want fat pads in them, lol.

LOL In pieces - LOL

I'll be watching this, because I've never used them before either. I'd like to, but couldn't find any info and wanted to figure out how first. I have no problem experimenting with paints, but the cuddly bodies I don't want to mess up. LOL
