Realistic Reborn Dolls

How do I make the paint look realistic on my doll?

by Ann Kap
(Stratford,Ontario,Canada)

I bought a secondhand doll to practice reborning on which is an older rubber type doll.I cleaned the old factory paint off with a recommended paint remover.and washed the baby with soap & water.I left it to dry completely. I tried to apply the paint and heat set each different colour with my heat gun. When I was finished I had created a monster. The paint looks like it has watermarks and is blotchy all over. The veins went on okay but the blush and first coat looked awful. Can you maybe give me an idea what went wrong. Thanks Ann
