Help with rosy lip color for reborn dolls

Hi all, I'm having trouble attaining the rosy lip color of young babies and children on my reborn dolls. I use genesis heat set paints. Maybe another type of paint? Any suggestions? Thank bunches!

Hi Leah,
To obtain the rosey lip color, I use pyrrole red #2 and ultramarine blue of genesis paints. You can mix them with thinning mudium or odorless minerial spirits. You will want to add just a touch of the blue. Less color and more layers is best.
I start with thinning medium and mix a very translucent grape color. I use this color to define the lip area. Make sure you heat set in between each color
Then I mix different variations of the red and blue some more intense some less. Sometimes just red mixed to make another tranlucent color.
I apply the paint in dots. A dot here and there.
Remember even the lips are many different colors.
If you get the lips to lavender, you can add a wash of yellow color over the lips and that will tone it down. Mix the yellow with your minerial spirits. You will want just a hint of yellow color. Bountiful baby also sells colors already premixed if you like. I hope that helps you.
