Fake babies vs real babies...lol

My Favorite Reborn

I love my babies, they never cry, poop or need to be fed. I know when I buy them clothing the size will never change...I collect reborns and I make them. I probably keep every 5th baby I make. I love the creative process and I get a little thrill when I zip the the band on the head and see the finished baby. They get their first kiss from me before I dress them. I enjoy picking out the layette for each baby. I find that each one has a "personality" when it comes to clothing style and color.

Are they Fake babies, yes, do they become real in my mind, no. Does it make a difference, no....I just love them. I enjoy looking at them, holding them, putting them in different clothing and putting them in different places in my home. I have a crib, a bassinet, a small cradle and a small wicker stroller. I rotate the babies and change their clothing for the different seasons and holidays.

I am a 62 year old retired grandmother who adores reborns. I have made a portrait baby of each of my children and grandchildren. I love them the most. So do they. I have donated a couple of reborns to a local convalescent home and they are much loved by the residents. I have seen older women bond with them and come out of their shells. I believe that anything that gives a person a better quality of life is essential and should be encouraged. Making babies has become a passion for me and I hope that I can continue to bless the lives of other women who love them as much as I do.
