Coloring flesh tones and veins on reborns

The Reborn Kit I bought. I would like to get her looking like this when I'm done.. HELP!!

I'm very new to reborningand would like to make a little girl for my mother in law. as i know this will help her in her process during Breast cancer .. giving her something small and sweet to cuddle on her bad days and to give her comfort on the worst of days..

I already found the perfect kit, and still have to buy the doe body and etc.. but I have no clue on painting the flesh tones.and veining..the reborn will have no hair as it is to be a newborn.. so I would like to figure out how to do the veins and classic facial lines. I'm buying the genesis paints in normal flesh tone colors.. if I can find it.. and the brushes I can pickup at walmart.. but please please if you can.. explain to me the art of painting the skin to make it look real.. like the pics on the Ask An Artist page.. !! I want a true new born look.. or at least as close as I can get it..

Hello!
You might find the Secrist DVDs extremely helpful in getting started. If you are learning on your own, they are very straight forward and easy to follow.

I just went to take a look at this kit and this baby almost looks just like baby Faith that I just finished doing...twice..lol. Take a look at Bountiful baby website for Baby Faith. Strange. Same size. You can get a doe suede body/slip for the 17 to 18 inch for 9.00 at Stephanie Sullivan's site and it's very nice as is Stephanie is good at helping and she's the professional. :) Hope this all helps you avivaloveshim@yahoo.com

You know I get some brushes from super walmart that have those see through different shaped handles and those brushes rock. Also the odorless paint thinner is at Walmart called Mineral Spirits. Works just fine. It's like a few %% incase you end up doing a few more. Bountiful has the easiest set of paints. I'd get the whole set in the small size. It's like 21.00 or close and it's enough to do a lot. I think if you change your mind and want to do a little bit of hair..or are you leaving the baby bald for a reason. Most are not bald as I was a nursery nurse for many years. I wouldn't over do the painting. Seems like the harder I try..I don't do as good for some reason. lol. You can also contact me by email..I have a lot of light natural mohair that I could part with that is just beautiful in soft strawberry blonde...and a few other colors at no cost.. It wouldn't take much. I can send a rooting needle with it. Secrist.com has a chart showing the placement of the veins for 5.00. I don't know if a search would bring something up. Just a few here and there are fine. I don't really like lots of veins because I know it took forever to find one in the nciu. You can purchase everything you need on this site...reborn supplies...or go to bountiful babies.com you can get the paints, brushes, bodies, anything you need. You can also look for the tutorials, mini videos on how to's.
You copuld also do a search on tutorials on reborning...even on youtube...there are several on rooting the mohair...if you can find what you are looking for or just need a question answered you can email me.....sparrowk.kay@gmail.com...I'll try and help.
