Can frizzy mohair on a reborn doll be fixed?

by Melissa
(Des Moines, IA, USA)

Hello, I just got my first reborn baby off of Ebay, she's a Berenguer sculpt (the sweetly smiling La Newborn one) and most of her is just darling. My one problem; her hair! I don't feel like it looks anything like a baby's hair. It's quite frizzy looking, and for now unless she's wearing a bonnet or a headband, she looks silly.

Would a haircut or styling product make her look more like an actual infant or am I going to have to find some way to re-do her with nicer hair? Is it normal for babies with mohair hair to look this way?

Rid the fizz of mohair
by: Angie Mac

Hi there,i had major problems with one of my babys frizzy hair.Boots sell a hair product called [ESSENTIALS RANGE] curl creme, its for permed hair, its a pink soft wax and under £2,so good value, its in a clear plastic tub 250mls.I gently brushed it in and the fizz just vanished,if you cover with a hat over night it sets hair flat to the head,it rinses out easily also,i hope this helps.

frizzy mohair

Sounds like poor quality mohair to me, but you could try using a leave-in conditioner like "No More Tangles" and some hair gel. Also, you can spritz some water on it when you want it to look nice.

frizzy mohair

You could try putting some conditioner on it. It sounds, though, like you purchased a doll with poor quality mohair, or perhaps it was rooted from the wrong end. A hair shaft has 'barbs' on it. Take a piece of your own hair and rub one way (it will be smooth), rub it the opposite way (it will feel rough. The hair may have been rooted from the wrong end, and combing just "roughs' it up and makes it frizzy.
