Baking the reborn doll, how many times...

by Lada
(Canada)

Hi, silly question...
I just purchased my first kit and one thing is not clear. Do you bake it after the base coat and at the end after finished painting? OR, I should bake between the coats of paint? Is there such thing is too many coats of paint?
Also, what is the best way to clean your brushes after use?
Thank you

Hi Lada
You heat set ( bake ) each layer of paint as you go. So after you do the base coat - bake - then blushing - bake - etc
If your layers of paint are very thin you can easily do 10-20 thin layers - it all depends on the look you are trying to achieve.
I don't personally wash my brushes very often as the genesis heat set paints don't dry. When I do wash them I soak them in non-toxic brush cleaner.
happy reborning!
Kim
